Use Maple eSign in your AI app
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or another AI app to Maple eSign. Then ask it about your agreements in plain words: what is waiting on whom, what has expired, how many were completed this month. With your permission, it can also prepare a draft for you to review. It can never send.
Maple eSign connects through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI apps use to reach other services.
The address
https://sign.mapleesign.ca/mcpWhat the app can do
When you connect, Maple eSign asks you to allow one or both of these:
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Read (always) | Read your agreements, templates, reports and help articles |
| Drafts (only if the app asks) | Prepare drafts for you to review; it can never send them |
It will not be able to:
- Send, sign, void or delete anything.
- See signing links, access codes or API keys.
- Change people, settings or billing.
The app works as you, in one workspace. It sees only what you can see in that workspace. Tools the console keeps to owners and admins are not offered to AI apps.
Connect it
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector.
- Paste
https://sign.mapleesign.ca/mcp. - Sign in to Maple eSign when asked, choose the workspace, and select Allow.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name, and paste
https://sign.mapleesign.ca/mcpunder Connection. - Set up authentication, check I understand and want to continue, and select Create as a plugin.
- Sign in to Maple eSign when asked, choose the workspace, and select Allow.
- Start a chat, type @ and pick Maple eSign.
Custom MCP servers work on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, on the web. On Business, a workspace admin or owner adds the server; on Enterprise and Edu, an admin can also let chosen members add it.
Grok
- Go to grok.com/connectors and select New Connector, then Custom.
- Paste
https://sign.mapleesign.ca/mcp. - Sign in to Maple eSign when asked, choose the workspace, and select Allow.
On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin sets up the connector first.
Any other MCP app
Add https://sign.mapleesign.ca/mcp as a remote MCP server. The app finds the sign-in on its own: Maple eSign publishes standard OAuth metadata, and apps can register themselves (dynamic client registration or a client ID metadata document).
Disconnect it
In Maple eSign, open Settings, then Connected apps, and select Disconnect beside the app. It stops working at once. To use it again, connect it again from the app.
The tools
Reading (permission: Read)
| Tool | Name in the app | What it does |
|---|---|---|
list_agreements | List agreements | Lists the team's agreements, newest activity first, with status, who has signed, who it is waiting on and whether it is past its expiry. Filters: status, a text search over titles and recipients, limit and offset. |
search | Search | Searches agreement and envelope titles, the words inside agreements, and template names the team can see. |
get_agreement | Open an agreement | Opens one agreement: its recipients and the status of each, the delivery status of every email or text, and its audit trail. Signing links are never included. |
read_agreement_text | Read an agreement | Reads the text inside one agreement, page by page, with the organization's playbook, to summarize it, list its clauses, parties, amounts and key dates, and flag where it departs from the playbook. Works only after an owner or admin turns on reading in Settings. |
agreement_counts | Count agreements | Counts the team's agreements in each status (draft, sent, partially signed, completed, declined, voided) and the total. |
list_templates | List templates | Lists the team's templates, active and archived, with how many agreements were made from each. |
get_template | Open a template | Opens one template: its name, roles and fields. |
report_completion | Completion report | Completion numbers for a date range: totals by outcome, completion rate and median hours to complete. |
report_signer_funnel | Signer funnel | How signers move from sent to viewed to signed for a date range. |
report_risk_signals | Risk signals | Agreements that need attention now: expiring soon, expired before completion, declined, bounced mail and similar signals. |
usage | Usage and plan | The team's usage (agreements, templates, envelopes, members) and its plan limits. |
list_notifications | Notifications | Your recent notifications, read and unread. |
list_comments | Comments on an agreement | The comments on one agreement, oldest first. |
list_deal_rooms | Deal rooms | Lists the team's deal rooms with their status. |
get_deal_room | Open a deal room | Opens one deal room: participants, documents, tasks and status. Room links are never included. |
search_help | Search help | Answers product questions from Maple eSign help content, with links. Touches no data. |
list_recent_uploads | Recent uploads | Lists the PDFs you uploaded recently in this team (up to 12). The file's contents are never returned. |
Drafts (permission: Drafts)
Every draft tool makes a draft or reads one, nothing more. Nothing is sent and nobody is emailed: the draft waits under Drafts for you to review and send from Maple eSign.
| Tool | Name in the app | What it does |
|---|---|---|
create_draft_from_template | Make a draft from a template | Makes a draft from one of the team's active templates, with a person for each role and optional values for the template's named fields. |
create_draft_from_upload | Make a draft from an upload | Makes a draft from one of your recent uploads, with a title and at least one recipient. The file never passes through the chat. |
detect_fields | Find fields in the PDF | Reads a draft's PDF for the fields it asks for (text anchors, tags, form fields, printed labels) and says which fields it would place for whom. A suggestion only: nothing is saved. |
Your data
- The app reads only what you can read in the workspace you chose, and acts as you.
- Maple eSign keeps a record of each action a connected AI app takes. Your conversation stays with the AI app you use: Maple eSign receives only the requests the app makes to these tools.
- Maple eSign does not use document content, signatures or workflow evidence to train AI models.
- Today, records of what connected AI apps did are kept with no set time limit. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy explains this and how to ask for deletion.
